Rental Car to Return home for a week. |

The Myrtle Beach Yacht Club is in Coquinta Harbor, a large cut into the land adjacent to the ICW. One travel guide reports that the harbor was once a rock and sand quarry, and that when they cut a channel to the ICW they had to fill the bottom with sand to achieve depths where it could be used as a marina. It turns out there are three marinas in the harbor which is now surrounded with mid-rise condominiums, a hotel, and two nice restaurants. We were able to utilize the convenient location to obtain transportation home. Hertz has an office nearby and we easily arranged to rent a car to return home. They even sent a car to pick us up at the marina. After a nice breakfast at the nearby Holiday Inn and completing arrangements to leave the boat for a week, we were on the road to Maryland by 11:00 AM. |
