MBYC on Thursday and Friday

We left home about 0800 on Thursday to return to Myrtle Beach Yacht Club and warmer weather arriving about 1600.  After loading the boat we relaxed and enjoyed a nice dinner at Unberto's Italian Restaurant.

We kept the car Friday for a tour of the Myrtle Beach area and also to finish provisioning the boat for the next leg of the cruise.  We drove south on US Route 17 through North Myrtle Beach to the Barefoot Landing and Resort.  Several years ago we came close to purchasing a home in Barefoot Resort and wanted to drive through the neighborhoods.  It's an impressive development.  Along the western shore of the ICW they built high and mid rise condominiums and a marina, and have reserved land for a small "Town-Center" area for retail businesses. Then further to the west they have three golf courses surrounded by a wide range of homes, town homes and low rise condominiums.  The neighborhood where we had intended to purchase appears to be completed, now full of mid-size retirement homes.  Oh-well, maybe in the future...

We had intended to attend a performance at one of the popular theaters, but were not able to get good seats.  Both the Carolina Opera and Alabama Theater's Christmas Shows were close to being sold out so we decided to return the car to Hertz and have a quiet evening on the boat before heading south on Saturday.
